Last Wednesday after the Harvest Festival service the Outside Classroom was officially opened by Chair of the Governors, Esme Pickford (left). Thank you to all those who attended the opening, it was lovely to see so many parents staying to acknowledge the results of a lot of hard work from the PTA and their own generosity when supporting events!
The outside classroom has already become a firm favourite with the children during break and lunch times, and classes have gone out to read or have PHSE lessons despite the increasingly cold weather. Come the summer months we may have to create a timetable to use it!
It was, of course, the PTA’s hard work in raising £5000 that made the outside classroom possible. A newsletter from the PTA will be with you after the half-term break highlighting the future events they have planned. In the meantime here’s a run down.
Friday 26th November 2010 – Preordering of the PTA 2011 School Calendar starts.
Friday 3rd December 2010 – PTA Christmas Bazaar.
Saturday 29th January 2011 – PTA Fun Quiz Night.
Saturday 25th June 2011 – PTA Summer Fete. (Date booked but to be confirmed.)
The AGM held last week was a great success with lots of great ideas coming from those in attendance. If you couldn’t make the AGM but would like to get involved in any way with the PTA please think about coming to the next PTA meeting on Thursday 4th November at 7pm in The Bird in Hand in Halstead.
Alternatively, if you have any fundraising ideas, or thoughts about what the PTA could spend their money on around school, please leave a comment below or e-mail email@example.com
