School Name Change – Have Your Say! 6

It has been proposed by Essex County Council that the school change its name to South Halstead Primary School to better reflect its geographical location. As part of this rebranding it has also been thought best to change the school’s colour from blue to red.

You can see how the new school name would look by the changed header of the website.

We would like to hear your views on the name (and colour) change – please leave your comments and we will pass them on to the council.

Have a good day!
Edit:

We’ve been rumbled! It is indeed April Fool…sorry!

No one liked the name change but quite a few people thought a change of colour might be nice!

I can confirm though that no name change or colour change is planned.

Have a good weekend everyone.

I personally don’t like the suggestion, South Halstead sounds so clinical and unpersonal and that is not our school. Why exactly are they requesting to change the schools name? Does that mean St.Andrew’s will become North Halstead and Richard De Clare Mid Halstead, after all they do not describe their locations at all. At least we sit in the shadow of Holy Trinity church, there is no better location description.

When is the proposed change likely to take place?

I am not too fussed about the change of colour as it would stand us out from St.Andrews.

    Many thanks

Hahaha! is this an April fools joke?…Dont see why the school has to change its name’Holy Trinity is a good name and the school has been known by that name for a lot of years.I chose this school for my children to attend because the school had a good name as well as other factors! i would be very sad to see the name changed just because the council wont to define the area :-)…..

I don’t think that it should be necessary to change the schools name let alone it’s colours all because of where the school is situated. Why do the council think that this is going to help?
Holy Trinity is a lovely school and has stayed the same for many years which is why in my opinion parents choose to put their children there. It’s a sad case and would be unfortunate if this was to happen. I for one am not happy about it and feel that things should remain as they are, it was named Holy Trinity School for a reason, we may no longer have Holy Trinity Church open but wasn’t this the reason that the school was named as such!! Leave things as they were intended.
The colours are not an issue as we would stand out from other schools in the town, on that note when will the likes of St Andrews be changing their name??
