Independence

In line with our School Development priorities and as a response to our last OFSTED Inspection, we are having a whole school drive to improve our children’s level of independence.

We want our children to try and ‘think on their feet’ a little more and, when challenged by their work, try and rise to that challenge rather than automatically seek adult help. OFSTED inspectors felt that our children were too eager to seek adult help when they faced a challenge rather than attempt to solve the problem themselves.

This term our teachers will be looking to reward children who they feel are really trying their best to be independent. It would be great if you could also try to support this line at home…
