It’s been a busy, busy year and with this, the 300th post of the ‘new’ school website, I attempt to list just some of the many things that have gone on at Holy Trinity C of E Primary School this year.
It’s quite a long list, so in no particular beyond month-by-month, here goes…
First News children’s newspapers arrived.
Hundreds of new books were purchased for class libraries.
Paddington Bear Class went on a Winter Walk in the Public Gardens.
The choir sang at The O2 as part of Young Voices.
The first of the year’s PTFA Discos took place.
The school kitchen opened providing meals cooked on the premises.
PTFA Fun Quiz.
PTFA Second Hand Uniform Sale.
Safer Internet Day.
KS1 visit to Hollytrees Museum.
KS2 visit to the British Museum.
Non-Uniform day for Breakthrough Breast Cancer.
By doing something funny for money the children raised over £550 on Red Nose Day.
Maths Premier League was started by a Year 6 pupil.
We all came back to school in our pyjamas for bedtime stories on World Book Day.
The school changed its name to South Halstead Primary – just for the day…

PTFA Ice Creams sales started
The PTFA organised the Easter Bunny to visit and hand out Easter eggs.
Tabecat arrived in school, following a pupil competition, to promote e-safety.
Easter Eggstravaganza by the Choir in aid of Cancer Research UK.
Another PTFA Disco.
PTFA Inflatable Fun Day.
Prize winners at Chelsea Flower Show.
Theme Lunches started.
‘Have Your Say’ added to the school website.
Oak tree and bench installed in the school grounds to commemorate the Royal Wedding.
SATS for Year 6.
School Journey to Norfolk.
PTFA Summer Fete raised over £2000.
KS1 Sports Day.
Foundation & KS1 visit to Brightlingsea.
KS2 Sports Day
Wizard Of Oz – KS2 Summer Performance.
The ICT Suite is closed down.
Farewell to Year 6.
Two new classrooms created.
Managed wireless system and dedicated server room added.
DB Primary, the school’s new Virtual Learning Platfrom, launched.
All pupils receive @tabecat.com e-mail addresses.
Schools Fantasy League launched.
Promoting independence – a whole school focus.
Laptops, SMART Table & iPads arrive in school.
School website enjoys a redesign.
Dentists visit Foundation Stage classes.
Harvest Festival raises funds for Send-A-Cow.
Harvest Festival packs the hall.
KS1 visit to Colchester Zoo.
KS2 visit to Greenwich Observatory & National Maritime Museum.
Children In Need fundraising events organised by the School Council.
Deli Days introduced to the school lunch menu.
Operation Christmas Child – loads of shoe boxes donated.

Hall AV solution, funded by the PTFA, installed.
And that’s just what I can remember from looking back through the archives on the website – I’m sure you can all remember other highlights (and I’m sorry if I’ve missed them out!). There have also been loads of things going on behind the scenes too which all go towards making Holy Trinity better and better each day, week, month and year.
