World Book Day 2012 is on Thursday 1st March.
At Holy Trinity we are celebrating it in a number of ways.
During the day the teachers will be sharing some of their favourite children’s books with their classes.
There will be another World Book Day Quiz for pupils and their families to take part in.
In the evening we will be repeating last year’s incredibly successful Bedtime Story Evening! Pupils, parents/carers and siblings are welcome to come back into school at 5.45pm in their pyjamas, dressing gowns & slippers for bedtime stories, hot chocolate and a biscuit. The event will be in the hall and we are aiming to finished by 6.45pm – in time for bed!
At the Bedtime Story Evening we will holding a Bring-And-Buy Booksale. On sale for as little as 10p will be books that have been donated, or are no longer needed in the school library. It’s also a great opportunity for you to refresh your own book collections at home – if you have any books that you no longer want please bring them in and donate them to the stall. Although the main aim of the Booksale is to get lots more books into the hands of our children, any money that is raised will be spent on new books for use in school.
We are expecting delivery of the World Book Day £1.00 tokens very soon. This year there are 8 different books that can be bought for just £1.00. Go to www.worldbookday.com/books to find out about the great titles on offer. According to the website these special £1.00 books can be purchased from selected branches of Waterstones, WH Smith and Tesco stores.
Last year’s World Book Day was a great success, and we’re really looking forward to 2012’s!
