I would like to remind everyone that we are closed tomorrow (15th November) due to the fact that Holy Trinity is being used as a polling station for the local Police Commissioner elections. We will be opening again as usual on Friday 16th November.
On Friday we will all be celebrating ‘Children in Need’ by bringing a bear to school. In addition I have sent out a ‘Bear Essentials’ quiz. I will check the answers and from the winning entries I will draw one lucky winner in our Celebration Assembly on Friday. The winner will receive a kids ‘hamper’ full of exciting goodies!
Contrary to some rumours, I must point out that Friday (Children in Need) is not a non-uniform day – I think some of our children have got confused – the next non-uniform day is Friday 30th November (PFTA Bring a Bottle donation).
Finally, I would like to ask for your support to address headlice throughout the school. Children should not have time off school due to headlice but when children come home with headlice I must implore all parents to please make sure their children’s hair and scalp is free from eggs and lice by treating them immediately. Our School Nurse suggests that the most effective way to treat headlice is to repeatedly rinse and condition your child’s hair then use a fine toothed headlice comb to remove any eggs/lice. Expensive treatments are often unnecessary.
I must remind parents and carers that we, as a school, have a duty of care towards the children at Holy Trinity; if we have concerns that some of our children are not being treated appropriately for conditions such as headlice we can seek intervention from the School Health Team, Education Welfare Officer and ultimately, Social Services.
Thank you in advance for your support and co-operation.
