Sumdog – What Is It Again?

If your children are stuck for something to do, you have access to the internet at home and you’d like to see them improve their maths skills then look no further than sumdog.com!

Holy Trinity have recently subscribed to the website: www.sumdog.com and it is great for improving children’s mental arithmetic skills. All children in Year 1 – 6 can log onto the site using their personal @tabecat.com email username and password. Simply go to www.tabecat.com and follow the link at the bottom of the page.

Your children can either practice their skills or take part in the regular national competitions against other schools in the UK.

Incredibly, www.sumdog.com recognises when children are answering questions accurately and systematically moves them through increasingly challenging difficulty levels.

We have administrative access to sumdog.com and can therefore monitor pupils progress and set them challenges and tasks.

In addition, each week in our Celebration Assembly, we will be presenting a certificate to a sumdog.com ‘Top Dog’ – a pupil who has clearly made a huge effort to improve their maths skills through sumdog.com.

This week we finished 49th (out of 256 schools) in the National Contest, but a new contest starts each week. Please encourage you children to use sumdog.com, it’s a fun and exciting way for children to improve their mental maths skills and you will be helping us tackle one of our school improvement targets!
