Message from Mr Smith

Dear Parents and Carers

I am sorry that I have closed Holy Trinity Primary School today. I hope that our closure does not cause you and your family too much inconvenience.

I tried to get into school this morning but the minor roads were absolutely treacherous and even where they have been gritted, most roads have a covering of ice due to the freezing temperatures.

Mr Randall has been in school over the weekend to try and clear paths and walkways, as always he has done an amazing job in very difficult circumstances. However, due to the conditions, and the fact that it would be impossible for me to assemble anything like a full teaching staff today, I made the decision to close.

I know some schools made the decision to close yesterday on the back of the weather forecasts. I tend to avoid doing this because, as we all know, the weather forecasters can get it wrong!

We will do our very best to re-open tomorrow. I will make a decision in the morning and, with Mr Handy’s help, the school website, Facebook and Twitter feeds will be updated promptly.

Keep warm and stay safe.

Best wishes,

Jon Smith
