A Message From Mr. Smith

Dear Parents, Friends and Families,

Firstly, I would like to thank everyone who came along to see the Kangaroo’s Showing Assembly this week; it was extremely entertaining and the quality of their work and overall presentation was excellent!

Next week we have two Showing Assemblies. On Tuesday Miss Todd’s Class (The Tigers) will be sharing their work and on Wednesday Mr Smith will be reviewing the trials and tribulations of this years’ School Journey!

I would like to encourage you to try and attend our Maths Open Morning (26.06.13). The feedback from the Phonics Morning in January was that a similar event focusing on Maths would be helpful, so we have responded to your feedback and look forward to showing you how we approach Maths at Holy Trinity. Parents said how much they enjoyed seeing children and teachers ‘at work’ so we hope that you’ll find the morning both interesting and informative.

End of year Summary Reports will be going out in July; these reports will evaluate children’s progress towards meeting their targets (set in the Spring Term Update) and report on their progress throughout the curriculum. We have modified the reports again this year so they provide a better picture of your child’s progress against age related expectations. Again, we have done this as a response to your feedback because many parents explained that they wanted to know whether children were either working towards, in line or above the expectations for their age group.

I look forward to seeing you at the Summer Fete this weekend, please come along and support the wonderful work of our PTFA – they are so supportive and contribute so much to life at Holy Trinity. From selling ice creams in their spare time, to raising huge amounts of money for school trips, we are extremely fortunate to have such a generous and committed group of parents enriching the lives of our children. Thank you PTFA!

Best wishes,

Jon Smith
