Clubs: Information Now, Letters Home On Monday

Letters for this term’s clubs will be sent home on Monday and forms should be returned by Wednesday. We apologise for this short turn around but sorting out the logistics of so many clubs, both in terms of staff and locations and allocating children, is a time consuming process and we want to get the clubs started on Monday 20th January.

If you wish to download & print the clubs letter so you can return the slip on Monday you can do so by clicking here. Your choices will be allocated at the same time as everyone else’s (see below), but it is one less thing to worry about next week.

Monday 13th January: Letters home

Wednesday 15th January: Slips deadline.

Thursday 16th January: Breakfast Club begins.

Monday 20th January: All other clubs begin.

Please note that Mr. Wiskin’s clubs have already started running.

We have tried hard to put on a range of clubs for all age groups.

You can find out more about MinecraftEdu Club here, and Fitbods here.

Due to the rising number of children in our school, we will be drawing all places for activities randomly, as this offers a much fairer chance for all children to return their forms. We will have a post box in the office foyer for you to place your requests. This will remain in place until noon on Wednesday 15th, after which time the box will be opened and places will be allocated.

I am afraid that it is just not possible to accommodate everyone’s requests. In the event of activities becoming over-subscribed, the remaining children will go onto a waiting list and you will be notified when a place becomes available. You will not receive notification of allocated places, but all club lists will be displayed in the main notice board just inside the entrance gate to the office area for you to check whether your child has been allocated a place or to see if they have had to go on the waiting list.

Multi Sports and Football are clubs offered by Mark Wiskin Sports Academy and parents must arrange payment separately for these activities. Application forms are available from the office.

As always, I will expect the absolute highest standards of behaviour from children attending after school clubs. I am afraid that I will treat poor, disruptive or rude behaviour with a zero tolerance approach. On a positive note, I hope your children really enjoy the activities on offer.

Could I also please request, in line with our normal home time procedure, that you inform the school if you are making different pick-up arrangements. We will not send children home with ‘different’ people if we are unaware of the change. Likewise, older children will not be allowed to walk home alone unless we have been previously informed that this is your request.

Kind Regards,

Jon Smith

Head teacher
