It has been wonderful to see you all again after our half term break! It is great to hear what a fun week the children all had. We have had a busy week, getting straight into lots of seasonal activities related to Bonfire Night. We have been thinking about how to describe all the exciting sights and sounds at this time of year, using a short clip on the interactive whiteboard to support our ideas. The children then chose a bonfire/firework shape to write one of their words in to create a shape poem. We also used our ideas to create a firework picture using different materials and techniques, including glitter, pastel and paint to create effects. We have been developing our maths skills by practically taking away sizzling sausages in a pan! The children have continued to work really hard on their number and letter formation and their letters and sounds. Another great week in Hedgehog Class.
This week we will be saying farewell for now and good luck to Mrs Hallam as she goes off on her maternity leave. We wish her and her husband Steve all the best with their new addition and we look forward to meeting the new little bundle!
