S.M.S.C. stands for spiritual, moral, social and cultural development.
Next week we have a packed week of S.M.S.C.-related activities including visitors, discussion, special assemblies, the production of a school newspaper and a vote related to helping others.
On Wednesday we will be having a fundraising non-uniform day which, at the request of the children via the School Council, will have a theme of “Football & Pyjamas”. Children can wear anything they want related to football and/or pyjamas but: Please do not buy anything especially for the day and; Remember that we will still have break and lunchtime outside so choose your outfit with that in mind!
We ask that all children bring in a monetary donation in exchange for coming to school in non-uniform.
The total raised will be split between SOS Children’s Villages (a charity for children across the world), Panathlon Challenge (a charity for children across the UK), and Holy Trinity PTFA (a charity for children across our school). The children will be learning about each of the three charities during the week and the money raised on Wednesday will be split between them depending on a pupil vote on Thursday. (In much the same way as the green tokens work at the Co-op supermarket.)
We’re sure you’ll find out more about the week from the children, and we will be posting updates to the website throughout the week.
Due to S.M.S.C. Week’s special assemblies there is no WOW Assembly on Monday.
