Following today’s vote, which replicated General Election & Council votes as closely as possible, the results were announced by Halstead Mayor Shirley Driver, and Councillor Jennie Sutton.
Every child voted and as a result of their choices the £240 raised via the “Football & Pyjamas” Non-Uniform Day will be divided as follows:
£120 – SOS Children’s Villages
£80 – Panathlon Challenge
£40 – Holy Trinity PTFA
Thank you to Mayor Driver & Councillor Sutton for coming into school to count and announce the vote, and talk to the children about local democracy, and to everyone who donated money on non-uniform day.
Well Done also to all the children for exercising their democratic rights – we hope that they will choose to use their vote as adults too.
