We now have a vacancy for a parent governor. Therefore I am writing to invite parents, guardians and carers of registered pupils to put their names forward for election. There is one vacancy.
The role of parent governor is very important to the school. Parents must have input into the direction and vision of the school, now and in the future. One of my principle aims is to make certain that parents and carers play a bigger role in life at Holy Trinity Primary School and electing a new parent governor is the first step towards achieving this aim. We are particularly keen to recruit a parent governor with an interest in finance matters.
All parents over the age of 18 are eligible to stand for election and to vote with the exception of: (i) those who are elected members of the Essex County Council (ii) those who are employed to work at the school for more than 500 hours in an academic year (iii) those who are ineligible as listed overleaf.
Nominations must be proposed and seconded by other parents with children at the school. The person nominated must, on the day that nominations close, be a parent of a pupil registered at Holy Trinity Primary School. No parent may propose or second more candidates than there are vacancies.
The successful candidates will be required to submit an application through the school to Essex County Council Disclosure Unit regarding their suitability to have access to children and will not be able to take up post until clearance has been received.
If there are more nominations than vacancies there will be an election in the form of a secret ballot. If an election is needed, voting papers will be sent to all parents together with details of the ballot procedure.
If you would like to put your name forward, please complete and return a Nomination Paper (these are available from the Main School Office). All nominations must be received by 9.00am on Friday 29th September 2017.
