KS2 Visit To The British Museum

Dear Parents/Carers

The KS2 theme for this term is Long, long ago in Ancient Egypt.  To enhance our work on this topic, we have organized a visit to the British Museum in London to see a special exhibition called “A Journey through the Afterlife of Ancient Egyptians”.  The Exhibition will cover features such as Preparing for the Afterlife, Ancient Egyption Beliefs, Mummification and the Netherworld.

We will be travelling by coach and will leave school promptly at 9.00 a.m. so children will need to be in school for registration by 8.45 a.m.  We will be returning back to school at approximately 5.00 p.m, traffic permitting. All children will need to bring a packed lunch on this day – no fizzy drinks or glass bottles please.  For children with a free school meal entitlement, a packed lunch, if requested, will be provided.

The cost of this trip will be £8.00 per child to cover the coach travel.  A small amount of spending money is allowed, but no more than £3.00 please.

If your child suffers from travel sickness, please make sure the correct medicine is taken before school and enough for the return journey is handed to your child’s teacher, in a named envelope.

Please complete the permission slip being sent home on the first day of Spring Term, and return to school as soon as possible.

Yours sincerely,

Miss L McCullough
