A Message From The Chair Of Governors

Dear Parents and Carers,

On behalf of the governors I wish to inform you that Jon Smith is unable to be in school for the next six weeks. Caroline, his wife, requires some additional hospital treatment following her course of chemotherapy and he needs to be at home to care for his family.

The governors have worked with our Essex County Council Advisor, Graham Lancaster, to ensure that the school retains strong leadership during this difficult time. Mrs Deborah Bailey will be acting as Executive Headteacher until Mr Smith returns. Mrs Bailey is currently headteacher of John Bunyan Infant School in Braintree. She and her deputy headteacher are very experienced and have the capacity between them to be able to lead both schools on an interim basis. Mrs Bailey will be supported by Mrs Barlow until Mrs Sibley returns from maternity leave.

Arrangements are being made to cover Mr Smith’s teaching days in the class he shares with Mrs King. Details will be forwarded to the parents of this class shortly.

We welcome Mrs Bailey to our team and thank her for helping us by standing in for Jon at this difficult time. I know that she is looking forward to working with the children of Holy Trinity and their parents.  She will be writing to you shortly to introduce herself.

Yours sincerely

Esme Pickford
