PTA Newsletter – April 2011

The PTA held an ‘Extraordinary meeting’ on the 14th April 2011. During the meeting a new PTA chair person, Sajel Howlett was voted in. Sajel will replace Barry Poulter as Chair of the PTA. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Barry for all his hard work and efforts during his time as Chair and we are pleased that he will still be part of the committee.

The new positions are stated below:
Chair person – Sajel Howlett
Vice Chair – Claire White
Treasurer – Sajel Howlett
Secretary – Lisa Hudson

The PTA have already held a variety of really successful and fun events this year, we thank all of you that attended and helped raise money for the school. We still have more exciting events planned before the end of the year and hope to see you all there.

Now that the weather is getting warmer, we are pleased to announce that the PTA will be selling ice creams and lollies starting Thursday 27th April after school from outside the school hall, It will change to Fridays from then on.

On Saturday 7th May 2011 we are holding a ‘Bouncy Day’ on the school field from 1pm till 4pm pay just £4 and play as long as you like. There will be a range of inflatable attractions for children of all ages to enjoy, as well as ice creams, cold drinks, candy floss and popcorn (at extra cost). Why not bring a picnic and make it a fun afternoon with all your family and friends?

We have already booked a range of fantastic stalls and attractions for our annual Summer Fete, which is taking place on Saturday 18th June 2011. We will provide more details nearer the time, but this is always a popular and enjoyable event so please save the date!

The next PTA meeting will be held at Friday 6th May 2011 in the school library after school.

We will keep you up to date with all the PTA’s ideas and planned events by a regular newsletter, on the school website and on the PTA notice board outside the school.

We would love to hear any ideas of events that you would like the PTA to arrange, money raising suggestions or thoughts on what the money raised from PTA events could be spent on. Please pass on your ideas by talking to a member of the PTA committee or returning the form on the paper copy of this letter to the school office.
