KS2 Visits To The Imperial War Museum, Duxford

Dear Parents/Carers

Our whole school Theme for this Term is “Looking Back”.  Key Stage Two are focusing on World War II and one element is Land Warfare and the importance/significance of the D-Day landings.

To enhance our work on this topic, we have organized visits to the Imperial War Museum in Duxford to attend a special D-Day/Land Warfare Theme Day.

Mrs King/Mrs Stringer and Mr Handy’s classes will be going on Wednesday 8th February 2012 and Mrs Sibley and Miss McCullough’s classes will be going on Thursday 9th February 2012.

We will be travelling by coach and will leave school at 9.15 a.m. We will be returning back to school by 4.00 p.m, traffic permitting.

Children need to wear school uniform for this trip and sensible walking shoes.  A waterproof coat will also be required.  All children will need to bring a packed lunch on this day – no fizzy drinks or glass bottles please.  For children with a free school meal entitlement, a packed lunch, if requested, will be provided.

The cost of this trip will be £6.00  per child.  A small amount of spending money is allowed, but no more than £3.00 please.

If your child suffers from travel sickness, please make sure the correct medicine is taken before school and enough for the return journey is handed to your child’s teacher, in a named envelope.

Please complete the permission slip sent home today and return to school as soon as possible.

Yours sincerely,

Key Stage Two Team
