It has come to my attention that some parents are unhappy that we are holding a sponsored event (Speedmark Challenge) so close to the PTFA Summer Fete and that Parents/Carers are being asked for too many donations at the same time.
I would like to apologise to all those who do not agree with the timing of this event, but would like to point out that sponsorship for the Speedmark Challenge is optional and all children who take part (whether they have sponsorship or not) will receive a certificate. This point was stressed to our children at some length. Secondly, even a donation of 10p will see our children receive a set of ‘Match Attax’ cards. National School Sports Week is the perfect time to hold the Speedmark Challenge, it is just unfortunate that it coincides with the date of the Summer Fete.
On a positive note, I hope that our children enjoy all the free events we have planned for National School Sports week and that they come away having experienced some new and exciting sports that they’ve never tried before.
Please note on the Diary Page that we have looked at the long range weather forecast (!) and re-arranged dates for our three ‘sports days’:
KS2 Sports Day (1.30pm) 3rd July
Foundation Stage Sports Morning (9.30am) 4th July
KS1 Sports Morning (9.30am) 5th July
I would like to remind Parents of children in Year 2 – Year 5 that we are making a big effort to try and start Music tuition at Holy Trinity in September. We have made some small steps this year with the introduction of a Guitar Group, but we would like to significantly extend the range of instruments we can offer at an affordable price.
Our chosen provider, the Music for Schools Foundation (MFSF) is a charity that offers affordable specialist music tuition for Key Stage Two children. The MFSF manages all payments for tuition online directly with parents and can provide musical instruments so parents do not have to incur huge costs. Please come along to the Parents Meeting on Tuesday 26th June at 6.00pm, in the School Hall.
Enjoy the weekend and I look forward to seeing many of you at the Summer Fete this weekend (fingers crossed for some reasonable weather!).
