From time to time children will have toileting ‘accidents’ in school. Whenever possible, we do our very best to clean up children so they can continue comfortably in school. However, there are times, when more intimate/personal cleaning is required, when we need to ask for help from parents/carers.
If we do ask for parental help with cleaning up children after an ‘accident’ it is simply because they need care that cannot realistically be provided by a teacher/teaching assistant. Safeguarding and Child Protection guidelines mean that there are limits to the level of personal and intimate care we can provide.
We try to avoid contacting parents/carers if at all possible, but sometimes it is our only realistic option. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to speak to you child’s class teacher.
