It has come to our attention that there are a range of rumours circulating about classes for the new school year, and the changing role of some of our teachers.
Rumours and speculation are rarely accurate, so I wanted to remove all doubt and communicate the modifications to our structure. Our organisation will be as follows:
Mrs Louise Hallam – EYFS
Miss Sarah Presland – Year 1/2
Miss Hayley Todd – Year 1/2
Mrs Lyndie Gladen/Mrs Laura King – Year 1/2
Miss Nicola Carter (Mrs Nethersole after the holidays!) – Year 2/3
Miss Charlotte Salisbury – Year 3/4
Mrs Hannah Rayner – Year 4/5
Mrs Jakki Sibley – Year 5/6
Miss Louise Warren – Year 5/6
Mr. Karl Handy – Computing/Cover Teacher
Mr. Mark Wiskin – PE/Games
The changes we have made have been necessitated by our change in pupil numbers and some changes in personnel. As a relatively small school with changing cohorts, split year groups are unavoidable. However, our pupil tracking information shows that split year groups do not have a negative effect upon children’s progress; on the contrary, our results over the last two years have actually improved.
A great deal of time and thought has gone into planning for these changes. As always, our classes will be balanced and issues such as friendship groups and pupils’ individual needs have been considered at every turn.
Children will be bringing home letters on Wednesday 3rd July to confirm their teacher/s/classes for the new academic year.
To aid this transition children will also meet their new teachers and classmates on the afternoon of Wednesday 3rd July. Furthermore parents are invited to a short and informal ‘transition meeting’ where we will explain some of the changes children will experience moving from, for example Foundation to Year 1 of Year 2 to Year 3 etc. at 3.30pm in the school hall. Although all parents are invited we feel it will be of most interest to those whose children are making steps into a new Key Stage, but all are welcome!
Some children will have a ‘brand new’ teacher in September. Miss Charlotte Salisbury (Y3/4) and Miss Louise Warren (Y5/6) will be joining our team and teaching in Key Stage Two – this meeting will give you the opportunity to meet the whole team ready for the start of the new school year.
We look forward to seeing you.
