The Gardening Club, which takes place after school on Tuesdays, is ever-popular and again supplying the school kitchen with produce!
Before the summer holidays the Gardening Club entered the RHS Britain in Bloom “It’s Your Neighbourhood” campaign and, after the judges were given a tour of the school grounds by Jessica, Ben and Harrison, judged it to be “Thriving”.
Since we returned to school in September the Gardening Club have harvested a bumper crop of potatoes which have been given to the school kitchen for use in school lunches. At a time when we are urged to source our food locally, you can’t get much more local than that!
Well done to all the hard working Gardening Clubbers who make the school gardens so attractive and bountiful, and special thanks to the parents who run the club for giving up their time each week (and during the holidays!) to make Gardening Club possible.
To better promote the work of the Gardening Club we have set up a Twitter account: HTPSGardenClub which, although not currently a directly posted-to feed, will periodically re-Tweet Gardening Club-related posts and photos.
