This half term we will be raising money for a number of causes.
Remembrance Day: Thank you to all the children who have enthusiastically bought poppies and other Remembrance Day items. These will be on sale until tomorrow.
Children in Need: All this week children are invited to bring in small change to fill ‘Class Jars’ which will be decorated at school. Each class will see how much small change they can collect and there will be a competition for the Best Dressed Jar!
In addition, there are Pudsey Bear wristbands (£1) and keyrings (£2) available in school all this week.
PTFA: On Friday 14th November we will be holding a Bring-A-Bottle Non-Uniform Day to collect tombola items for the Christmas Bazaar (see over). As it is on the same day as Children in Need children can dress as superheroes if they wish, but there is no expectation of this at all – it’s a PTFA Non-Uniform Day.
Save the Children: We will be raising money for Save the Children by marking Christmas Jumper Day. This will be our second non-uniform day of the term and although Christmas jumpers are the theme any Christmas-themed outfit will suffice.
Operation Christmas Child: A number of shoeboxes have already been sent in. The final collection day is Friday 14th November. They will be taken to the central warehouse, for distribution to orphans and children living in poverty around the world, early next week.
Along with the fantastic collection of items for Halstead Food Bank (as part of our Harvest celebrations) we will have done a lot for various charities this term. Money is being raised for children around the world, in the UK, our local community and our school. You may wish to vary your contributions depending on the cause and that’s fine: All donations are appreciated regardless of their size and will help us to help many people in the run up to Christmas.
