Hedgehog Class’ Activities (Wk Beg 5.01.15)

Happy New Year! It is so wonderful to see everyone back and to hear all the exciting Christmas stories! It certainly seems that Father Christmas heard how well all the children in Hedgehog Class have been working, as he has been very generous this year! We have spent time talking about our Christmas presents, we then painted our favourite gift and wrote about it. We have also begun sharing our Holiday books, it is great to see what wonderful things the children have been up to.

This week we have continued our phonics work revisiting the sounds we already know and focusing on the sounds ‘x’, ‘y’ and ‘z’ and the tricky words ‘he’ and ‘she’. We have practised forming the letter ‘m’ and the number ‘7’, perhaps your child could practise this with you at home. We have also used our number skills to solve subtraction problems, taking away buttons from a snowman’s coat. In PE this week the children explored using our bodies to travel across a mat in different ways.

We have made a super start to 2015 and we are sure it will continue, well done Hedgehogs.
