A Message From Mrs Sibley

Dear Parents and Carers,

I wanted to take this opportunity to write a brief note thanking you all for your kind words, thoughts and your patience during what has been a difficult time for all. In Mr Smith’s absence your children have been, as always, a pleasure to have in school and he would be very proud of how everyone is working and behaving. Mr Smith is planning to return after Easter and until then I will be acting as Headteacher in his place. This means I have handed my class teacher responsibilities to Mr Johnson and Mr A. Smith. Mr Johnson is an author and supply teacher who we have been fortunate enough to secure for the rest of the term, and Mr Andy Smith is a regular face around school who has been teaching the class regularly since September!

Mr Smith was due to cover Mrs King’s maternity leave in Hedgehog Class. On Thursdays and Fridays until Easter myself and Miss McCullough will be teaching Hedgehog Class in order to limit the number of ‘new’ people your children encounter this year! They have a wonderful team in Foundation and they honestly couldn’t want for better support staff with them. I have every confidence that this is the best solution to the current situation. If there are any questions or concerns, as always contact the school office and I will answer your queries. Thank you again for your support, it really is appreciated.

The first of those dates is next Thursday when, as announced earlier in the week, school will be closed both so staff can attend Mr Smith’s wife’s funeral and as a mark of respect.

On being asked, Mr Smith has suggested that if people would like to make a charitable donation The Willow Foundation is the one he and his family would most like to benefit. The charity helped them all during Mrs Smith’s illness. You can either donate directly, or send money into school in an envelope marked ‘The Willow Foundation’ and we will pass it on for you. Thank you.

Jakki Sibley
Acting Headteacher
