It has been a busy time at Holy Trinity. Sports days, Seaside Trips, The Summer Festival etc. etc.
I hope that you enjoyed the Summer Festival – it was great to see so many friends and family at the event and to see our children enjoying their performances.
The quality of the singing and performances was fabulous. Having watched the performances a few times it is clear to see that we have so many children with enormous talent. I have been here for nearly ten years, this years’ Summer Festival is certainly one of my favourite events – I was so proud of everyone.
Next year, there will be a major change to our weekly Celebration Assembly. From September 2015 we will be holding Celebration Assemblies on a Monday morning at 9.00am. The reason for this change is quite simple. Firstly, due to timetable changes and the number of part time staff we now have, not all teachers will be in school on Fridays. In my mind, the driving force behind the Celebration Assembly, and the reason I introduced it, was to give parents and carers the opportunity to hear teachers talk positively about their children and their achievements. This is absolutely fundamental to the principles of the Celebration Assembly. Secondly, on a Monday teachers will be able to talk about the whole week – a review. Our pupils of the week will have therefore been judged over a complete school week.
In the last few days we have been delighted to welcome back Mrs Hallam and Mrs Gladen following their period of maternity leave. Mrs Hallam will be working in a job-share with Miss Presland in Foundation and Mrs Gladen will be teaming up again with Mrs King in Year 1.
Mrs Flaherty will be moving from Year 1 and will provide cover in Key Stage Two for Mrs Rayner and Mrs Nethersole (when she returns).
On Wednesday we bid farewell to Mrs Sandra Lee – Mrs Lee has been providing maternity cover for Mrs Gladen and Mrs Hallam. Mrs Lee has shown total commitment and has worked really hard to provide the best possible opportunities for the children in her care.
In September, Miss Todd and Mrs Sibley will be mentoring two trainee teachers. Miss Lisa Ford and Mrs Donna Raven respectively. Miss Ford and Mrs Raven are well known to our children and we wish them every success in their training year!
We have been very lucky to have members of the Halstead in Bloom team helping our Gardening Club this year and they wanted to pay a special tribute to our school gardeners: Brice Constantinou, Millie Jeeves, Jessica Thomas, Megan Ho, Megan Hood, Charlotte Norris and Rachel Ball. Apparently, the Anglia in Bloom judges were really impressed – Well done everyone!
Enjoy the last few days of term,
Please don’t forget – Celebration Assemblies will begin again on Monday 14th September at 9.00am.
