Welcome From Mr. Smith

On behalf of everyone here at Holy Trinity, welcome back! I hope that you and your children are looking forward to the new school year!

A special welcome is extended to our new children and their families who have joined Holy Trinity either as new pupils in the Foundation Stage – The Hippos – or as transfers from other schools. Please remember, our doors are always open and if you have any worries or concerns we are here to help.

This year we will be holding Celebration Assembly on a Monday morning at 9.00am; so the first Celebration Assemblies will be on Monday 14th September at 9.00am. All parents are welcome; please come along!

I have added a whole list of events, dates and times to the calendar page so, if necessary, you can make arrangements to make sure you don’t miss out on any future events.

This year our Harvest Festival will focus on supporting the Halstead Food Bank. Leading up to Harvest we will be collecting food and eventually making a donation to this very worthwhile charity that helps local people in tough times; I will let you know when we can start collecting food. We will be holding two Harvest Festivals – we have done this so all parents have the chance to attend one of the performances. We would ask you to attend only one of the performances so neither performance becomes over subscribed and there’s plenty of room for everyone.

This week we welcome Miss Lisa Ford (Year 2) and Mrs Donna Raven (Year 5) to the teaching staff at Holy Trinity. Miss Ford has been volunteering at Holy Trinity for some time; she is now joining Miss Todd in Year 2 as a trainee teacher. Mrs Raven has worked with us for five years and again, she is also undertaking a year of teacher training with Mrs Sibley. We wish them every success this year.

I hope that your children enjoy being back at school. Today I have talked to the whole school about the importance of hard work and, as one of our Year 3’s explained – believing in themselves. In the last few years our children have turned Holy Trinity into a fabulous place to learn and we can sustain this through hard work, determination and self-belief!

I wish you and your families every success in the school year that lies ahead of us!

Best wishes, Jon Smith (Headteacher)
