This week was history week at Holy Trinity! The children have been focusing on this aspect of the curriculum, throughout the entire school. Hippo class have been concentrating on Guy Fawkes and why we have Bonfire Night. We have listened to the story of Guy Fawkes, watched clips of fireworks and shared all our wonderful experiences of fireworks displays.
The children have been extending their vocabulary, thinking about all the sights, smells and sounds they associate with Bonfire Night. They then used their creative ideas to support their writing. They have also enjoyed maths activities based around rockets and how high they might shoot! We have been learning how to order numbers and spot any errors.
In Little Explorers we created large firework scenes outside, using natural resources, combined with our shape knowledge.
A lovely, very different week – well done Hippos!
