Hippo Class To The Rescue!

This week the children have been a superb help to Farmer Kylee. He wrote to explain that poor Toffee the cow escaped from Boydells farm earlier in the week and Hippo class designed some wonderful ‘missing’ posters, which we displayed around the school. They were so successful that Toffee was found and returned just this afternoon. Well done children – your descriptions must have been very clear to help people identify her so quickly!

In addition to all the children’s careful writing they have also worked hard on number recognition this week, practising higher numerals, which are less familiar to them. They have used these numerals in several different activities and games.

In our Little Explorers session Hippos shared their knowledge of plants and nature. They discussed which factors might affect growth and used these ideas to plant their own sunflower seed, planning how they will care for it. They also began a sunflower diary, recording the first part of their investigation.

Hopefully we will see some wonderful results and beautiful flowers over the coming weeks!
