As I am sure you now know from our phone calls this afternoon, School Journey is back on! We have negotiated a solution that means the children will get the School Journey experience they have been so looking forward to!
Grovesnor Hall are in the process of a deep clean and the Health and Safety Executive have given the site approval to re-open on Wednesday morning. Therefore the plan is as follows:
Wednesday 22nd June 9.30am Departure for Grovesnor Hall
Wednesday 22nd June 11.00am Arrival
Thursday 23rd June All day Activities
Friday 24th June All day Activities
Saturday 25th June 11.30am Departure for Halstead
The only time I cannot confirm at the moment is time of arrival back in Halstead; we anticipate that the coach will return to Halstead just after lunchtime on Saturday, but we will need to confirm this with our transport provider. As always please keep an eye on the school website, Facebook and Twitter for the most accurate and up to date information.
I would like to thank Mr Wiskin, Mrs Ridgwell and Mrs Rayner for giving up some of their weekend to make this solution work for everyone. The children will have three nights away from home and some fantastic experiences with their friends. We were devastated at the thought of cancelling the trip, but under the circumstances, this is the best possible solution.
I would like to thank all our Parents for their support and understanding. Sometimes the best-laid plans do go awry, but I feel that we have managed to negotiate a good solution so our children can finish their school year on a high!
Finally, I would like to pass on very special thanks to Mr Wiskin; he has supported me resolutely throughout this process and was the first person in school on Sunday morning breaking the bad news to families. His commitment and dedication to our school and children is absolutely exemplary.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us.
