Safer Internet Day 2019 was last Tuesday, 5th February. Due to scheduling of assemblies we held our SID2019 whole-school assembly this morning. The theme this year is ‘Together for a better internet’ with the main messages being:
- If something makes you worried, uncomfortable or upset it’s always okay to say no.
- If you’re sure you’re happy with what will happen next then it’s okay to say yes.
- If what you’re doing online might affect somebody else, always ask their permission first.
- If you’re unsure or need further support then speak to an adult for help and advice.
With the last of those in mind I again direct you to our e-safety page on the website: www.holytrinityhalstead.com/esafety which has links to various resources that you may find useful. In particular, Net Aware gives expert advice for parents on networks, games & apps that your children may want to engage with.
In addition Purple Mash, the online platform we use at school across the curriculum, has produced a ‘Parenting In A Digital World’ booklet which you may find useful.
As ever, if you have any e-safety questions please just ask and even if we don’t know the answer there and then we will try and find out for you.
