Coronavirus – Monday 16th March 2020

Dear Families,

The situation with C-19 is a quickly changing one. We continue to follow Public Health England and Government Advice and will pass this to you as soon as we have it. Our communication with you will be through the app, school website and social media, and will continue in this way, should Government advice be that we close.

In the meantime we will be taking sensible precautions to delay the spread. As of the 16th March we have no suspected or confirmed cases directly associated with the school.

1- School events – We will look to find an alternative dates later in the year for any cancelled events.
I have taken the decision to cancel the Disco on Friday evening and next Wednesday’s Year 1 parent lunch. Refunds for the lunch will be issued via Scopay and a credit will be added to your account. At this time we have been advised to continue with assemblies we will continue to do so unless advised otherwise but WOW assemblies on Friday will be limited to a single well parent/family representative of a child who receives an individual WOW to reduce large gatherings. We will continue to monitor the situation regarding the Easter Service on the 2nd April.

2- School meetings – any SEN or scheduled meeting between now and the Easter holiday will now be conducted by telephone. As far as possible this will be in the timeslot that we have previously arranged for the meeting. We will call you using the contact numbers you have provided for us in school.

3- School Absence – We continue to expect children to attend school whilst Government advice is that schools should remain open. If your child is going to be absent please call the school 01787 472096 and let us know why in the usual way. As a parent, please follow the Government advice regarding whether your child should be kept absent from school. A new and persistent dry cough, a fever and a shortness of breath. If you feel it is appropriate for your child to be absent due to ill health we of course respect this decision. We are not in a position to make this decision for you. If your children are absent from school due to illness, there is no need for them to complete work at this time. We will communicate arrangements, in the normal way, for work and activities should Government policy around school closures change.
