This afternoon Hornet Class turned into gatherers, picking blackberries, plums, apples, and even a couple of rosehips and raspberries, from the school grounds and stewing them with honey. The children learned about how to pick fruit safely, and got to taste the kind of food it is believed Stone Age people would have eaten. Everyone tried some, and many had seconds. They would happily have had more had we not run out! The whole class were so enthusiastic, but they showed what a great group of children they are with their equally sensible approach to this exciting activity. Well done Hornets!
