On Sunday Miss Todd and children from Year 6 represented the school at the Halstead Remembrance Service in the Public Gardens.
What an amazing day! We had a lot of fun trying to hold up the extremely heavy chain mail tunic, ground some flour, tried on clothing and helmets, played Hnefatafl and Nine Men’s Morris, learnt some Viking commands for battle and so much more!

Year 3 became archeologists this afternoon, investigating the diet of early Stone Age people. They delved into ‘poo’ and found fruits, nuts and seeds. Just look at their faeces!
Year 4 were asked which chocolate will melt the fastest. They investigated dark, milk and white chocolate by first creating a prediction then analysing their results to compare. Year 6 experienced hard labour in the style of the Victorians. Activities included: treadwheel, picking oakum, shot drill and silence and isolation. They were exhausted!
