Emergency Closures

In the event of a severe snowfall the school could be forced to temporarily close. However, the severity of the weather is not always the factor that determines whether we close or not – it is often the impact the weather has upon our travel systems and safety in and around the school grounds.

Any closure, or notification that we are open despite the snow, will be reported via the App, this website (and simultaneously on Facebook & Twitter) as soon as a decision is made. Rest assured, as soon as a decision has been made we will let you know immediately.

To see any announcements you can:

Download our App from the Google Play or Apple App stores and ensure the ‘Whole School’ notification channel is switched on.

We will always update the app first, then move onto social media, etc.

We will also inform BBC Radio Essex and www.bbc.co.uk/essex of any developments, although historically there has been a delay of up to an hour before they have updated their information.

I apologise in advance if the weather results in disruption but although I will only close our school as a last resort, my priority at all times must remain the safety of our children, parents and staff.
